An article recently published in the Wall Street Journal reports that a New York contractor was arrested and charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree for alleged wage violations. The article claims that the contractor failed to pay workers the prevailing wage on a publicly-funded contract, and falsified payroll records to cover this up, resulting in 66 workers being cheated out of $298,000.
